Terms of Service
By using Muffin you agree to what follows. It is short on purpose: terms nobody reads protect nobody.
Read this one even if you skip the rest. Muffin uses AI to structure recipes and to estimate nutrition. It gets things wrong. Always read a recipe yourself before you cook it, and never rely on Muffin for anything involving an allergy, a medical diet or the safe handling of food.
Your account
You need to be 16 or older. Keep your password to yourself — anything done from your account is treated as done by you. Tell us at hello@muffinapp.nl if you think someone else is in it.
What you put in Muffin stays yours
Your recipes, your photos and your words remain yours. You give us only what we need to run the app: permission to store your content, show it back to you, and — for the recipes you choose to make public — show it to other people using Muffin. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account.
Recipes you bring from somewhere else
Muffin can read a recipe page and pull out the facts: the ingredients, the quantities, the steps, and who wrote it. It does not take the photographs or the article around the recipe, and it always keeps a link back to the original.
When you paste text yourself, what you paste is your decision. Do not publish content that is not yours to publish. If you are the author of a page and you would rather Muffin did not read it, write to us and we will stop.
What not to do
- Upload anything obscene, hateful, violent, or illegal.
- Upload photos of people who have not agreed to it.
- Use automated tools against the app, or try to get around the usage limits.
- Pretend to be somebody else.
Photos are checked automatically before they are shown. We can remove content and close accounts that break these rules.
What we do not promise
Muffin is provided as it is. We do not promise it will always be available, always be right, or always keep working the way it does today. Keep your own copy of anything you would be sad to lose.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from using the app. Nothing here limits any right you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by agreement.
Ending it
You can leave whenever you like: Settings → Delete account. It is immediate and it takes your recipes and photos with it. We may close an account that breaks these terms, or stop the service entirely, and we will give notice where we reasonably can.
Changes
If these terms change in a way that matters, we will say so in the app rather than quietly editing this page.
Which law applies
Dutch law, and the courts of the Netherlands — without taking away the protection of the consumer law of the country you live in.
